Are you passionate, creative, experienced, a team player, and open to learn and grow within your field?Who You Are: We are looking for candidates that are excited about joining David Kinch's New Orleans-inspired restaurant and bar in Los Gatos. Do you have minimum of 2 years of CRAFT cocktail bartending experience and 3-5 years of bartending experience? Consistency is a key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. A bartender must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A bartender should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Responsibilities: Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through bartender's actions. Responsible for preparing any ingredients for cocktails (juices, syrups, garnishments, etc) before and during service. Update important information and tasks to team members and managers via bar logs and e-mails. Work as a team with all company’s personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service. Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to company’s standards at all times. Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes. Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change. Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with company's standards. Wash and sterilize stemware. Be attentive! Offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it. Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks. Anticipate your guest's needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, making eye contact, etc.), and acknowledge the guest to let them know the bartender will be right with them. Serve alcohol responsibly. Should a guest reach the state where the bartender does not feel the guest should drive, supply a taxi. Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary. Perform other duties as directed. Skills Required: Possess full and complete knowledge of all menu items. Possess complete knowledge of all cocktails, beer, wine & liquor. Full knowledge of the POS system. Possess full knowledge of the Sequence of Service. Be fully aware of the restaurant’s licensing regulations and abide by them. (For example: Alcohol/Liquor, Capacity, etc.) Be fully aware of restaurant’s fire and safety regulations and abide by them. Required Education and Experience: State applicable food safety and/or alcohol compliance card. Must be of legal age according to state regulations to serve alcohol. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. General Conditions of Employment Be reliable and punctual at all times. Participate in and pass all required and ongoing training and evaluations. Undertake and follow through on any reasonable task or request made by Management. Be courteous and professional with all colleagues and guests. Ensure that you keep a high standard of personal hygiene, your uniform is kept clean, and that you are well groomed at all times.
